We had a wonderful dinner at Fridas. Me, my husband, and 2 daughters loved the options. One of our girls is a picky eater so it was nice to have the option of chicken strips and fries for her. I wish they bottled and sold their house habenero sauce/salsa. Love the heat and flavor of it! Portions are huge! Which is a positive for us because thats lunch leftovers for work the next day. Bathrooms were very clean. Restaurant very clean. Manager was on deck assisting his staff and being friendly. Waiter was very patient and tentative. Artwork/decor is beautiful and well suited. I really appreciated the authentic music and tv chanels on. Fridas is doing right!

We have been in the Midwest now for over 14 years, and having good Mexican food is truly few and far between. We've tried them all around us, they all fall short of what we get back home. (San Diego) Until tonight! We were served by Allen, (the owner's son) and he was friendly, prompt and well accommodating to us with some special requests on our menu choices. The food was excellent, hot and served in a reasonable amount of time. Frida's has a lot of open room, and is tastefully decorated, the restroom (men's) was clean and stocked. There was light music in the background, and we were checked in on enough times to not be annoying. We had 4 soft drinks and our meals, with the chips and salsa to start came to $83 after tax. Allen did a great job, we gave him a $100, thanked him and let him know we'll be back soon. (October 3, 2024 they get their liquor license and we look forward to trying their margaritas! They are within walking distance and we have plans of spending some evening there! If you're looking for great Mexican food served buy a caring family who are definitely putting their heart and soul into make delicious meals, consider giving Frida's a try, you be happy (and full) you did!

This is one of my new favorite places! The food here is so good. We've had several different burritos now and they've all been very yummy. Fair warning, the chili Colorado burrito is delicious, but it's literally the length of the plate! The steak is very tender and well seasoned. We've always had good service and it's just a nice, casual environment. Highly recommend.

Ordered lunch for pick up. The staff and dining room are pleasant and clean. The food itself is very good and reasonably priced given the quality and quantity received. Easily recommendable!

Best chips and salsa around. Love the camarones a la diabla, the flautas, the fajitas, everything I've tried. The service is always good. Love the atmosphere. If you haven't been, GO!

Oh my goodness! This place took my husband and I back to Southern California for a brief spell in time. Their Carne Asada Fries with extre carne Asad is worth every penny of the $20 we paid for it. This is still my husband's favorite dish in the world. My top choice is always a California burrito with fries, Pollo asada, and carne Asad! With the guacamole and salsa. Tops the tops. This was our 7 and five year old first time trying mexican the way we love it.(We also ordered a plain California butlrrito with the guacamole and salsa on the side for them) the loved everything!!!! Yummy. We ordered take out but our waitress Lamya(i highly doubt if I got that right) was the best. Thanks you guys for taking us back for a bit. We get take out once a month as a treat and a break from cooking three times a day. We will definitely be back!

I had lunch here with a group from the base. Apparently, they used to be located near the front gate and military have a long memory for good food. Chips and especially salsa were delicious. Taqueria tacos were great! I've eaten Mexican food all over the world and these were excellent. I can recommend the chicken, shrimp, al pastor, and carne asada. They let us celebrate with a cake we brought, but I'll be back to try their tres leches cake. Thanks for the great meal and service!

Frida’s Cocina is a family restaurant, owned by a military veteran. In its former home, just outside Scott AFB, it was the perfect place to dash in and grab a delicious take home dinner. It was such a treat when my husband would stop for one of their fantastic chimichangas or an enchilada plate! We were very excited when they moved to a beautiful new location in Fairview Heights! With an expanded menu, a great atmosphere and incredibly friendly and efficient service, it has become one of our favorite places to visit for consistently wonderful Mexican food.

Great service and great food. I was immediately greeted when I walked in. Super friendly and seated right away. Chips and Salsa were brought to the table. The chips were crispy. The salsa had great taste. I ordered a frozen strawberry margarita. The margarita was amazing. High quality ingredients. I ordered the Birria Tacos. Wow, these were really good. We have some very good Birria in Chicago and these were right up there in quality and taste. The side of rice was also right on point. If I'm ever back in the area, I will be back.
